The Faculty Contributions
to Measurable Outcomes
Faculty incorporate opportunities for the students to learn and to demonstrate that learning as a part of their course teaching and assessment. The facluty role in classroom instruction puts them on the front lines of assessing learner outcomes.
The classes taught by the faculty develop specific professional and technical abilities recommended by the American Society for Microbiology (ASM). Classes also include elements of communications, problem-solving/critical thinking, environmental awareness, ethics, and computer proficiency. Faculty evaluate student performance in all of these intended student outcomes as a part of classroom instruction.
