Clifford A. Shillinglaw Memorial Scholarship
Interdepartmental Microbiology (IM) Program, Iowa State University

• Selection Criteria: The foremost criterion will be academic standing and/or potential for a career in microbiology. All qualified students are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to students with interests and/or career goals in areas of microbiology allied with chemical engineering. Preference will be given to students who have not received a microbiology scholarship previously.
• Selection Process: The Program Supervisory Committee will review the applications. The Committee will, after evaluation of the application material (and at the Committee's discretion, conduct interviews with the applicant and/or the applicant's advisor) make its final recommendation(s).
• Award: The winner(s) will be given the award during the subsequent fall semester. The scholarship ($750) is to be used for tuition and class expenses, such as laboratory fees, textbooks, etc.
• Application: Visit the Iowa State University OneApp to submit scholarship applications. Scholarship applications are due March 1, 2021.
