Academic Advising

Academic Advisors are here to assist as you navigate the university system. They help you follow the academic program requirements, assist you in creating an academic plan, identify available campus resources and offer academic advice and mentoring.

Registration for an upcoming semester: You will be assigned a registration start date and time, which can be viewed by logging into Workday. Use *Navigate to arrange a meeting with your advisor to discuss classes; meeting 3-5 days prior to your registration start date. During that meeting, you will discuss your Program of Study.

If you are not satisfied with your current advisor, you may request a new advisor by contacting the Microbiology Program Administrator Sachiko Funaba in Science Hall Room 207 or email her at sfunaba@iastate.edu.

* Not all advisors use Navigate; if not available, email your advisor 1-2 weeks before your enrollment date to set up an appointment to discuss your registration.
